Beautiful music greets viewers as Host, Kahu Kalehua Featheran welcomes harpist Pumehana Davis Wadsworth to Hawaii’s Wedding Professionals.  Pumehana began playing the harp as a young child and now 30 years later, her repertoire ranges from traditional songs usually playing during weddings to more modern selections.  When asked “why a harp for weddings”, Pumehana replies that the harp is classy and elegant, and it can be played on the beach as well as in chapels.

Destination brides can find her on the internet and send in an inquiry on her contact page.  Upon receiving the inquiry, Pumehana will send them a song list and the dialogue continues to the wedding day.  Although Pumehana would like to have 6 months advanced notice of a booking, upon availability, she has also been able to provide services with just 2 days notice.

Kalehua’s second guests are Rick and Mila Troutman of Mila Niko.  Named for Mom Mila and son Niko, this wedding apparel shop carries a line of wedding gowns with a European flair.  With a manufacturing facility in the Ukraine, Mila Niko has a proprietary line of well made, top quality European couture bridal gowns that look expensive but are very moderate and well under the market price.  Much attention is paid to details such as beading, lace work and the selection of fabric.  The gowns are what Rick calls “heirloom quality” – made to be worn for generations and passed on from mother to daughter.  The dresses are fashioned with corset lacing, so they are 2 sizes in either direction and require very little, if any alterations.

Mila Niko has an online catalog from which selections can be made, and if a bride sees a gown she likes, but wants some changes made to it to fit her taste and style, this can be done in a very short time, when compared to other manufacturers.  Mila Niko also carries suits and tuxedos made in Turkey from the finest wool fabric.  So, they are light weight and perfectly suited for the Hawaiian climate.

Just for fun…The first 3 people who email Kalehua with the names of all the songs that Pumehana, exclusive harpist for the Aloha Wedding Shop, played during her interview will receive a $10.00 gift letter which can be applied to products or services from any of the vendors in the Aloha Wedding Shop Resource Center (a.k.a. honeylook.com).
