CONGRATULATIONS!!

Paradise Cove – Aunty Pat with Wedding Couple
The first interview begins with Kahu Kalehua Featheran officiating a wedding at Paradise Cove.  Viewers get a quick peek at Kahu Kalehua’s unique wedding ceremony, beginning with the Oli Komo or welcome chant, in this case, at The Point at Paradise Cove.

Then, through the magic of television, the cameras switch over to the Paradise Cove office in the Wailana building in Waikiki where Kahu Kalehua has the pleasure of introducing the people who work “behind the scenes” to the viewers.

The interview concludes with our wedding couple, Erin and Paul, sharing their experiences of working with the Paradise Cove staff and Kahu Kalehua, as well as congratulating  a couple (relatives of the groom) who were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on the same day - Hau`oli la ho`omana`o.

Tahiti Rey and Augie Rey
Kahu Kalehua’s second guest is a beautiful lady with a beautiful voice.  Her name is Tahiti Rey and she is accompanied on this interview by Dadager (Dad and Manager), Augie Rey, long time Hawaii entertainer.  Like the children of many entertainers Mom and Dad did their best to dissuade Tahiti from entering the music profession, but there were songs inside of her that needed to be shared with others and so with Dad guiding her, she began writing songs and singing in a variety of venues.

If you’d like a sample of what you might hear when Tahiti sings at weddings, pick up her Hoku nominated debut album, Tahiti Rey Acoustic Beauty.  Her melodic, soothing but powerful voice can be heard accompanied simply with an acoustic guitar and viewers get a sample of her song styling during the show.  If you’d like to see Tahiti live, check out her web site for her performance schedule.  She is also currently busy writing original songs for her next release which will be an album of her own compositions – more great music from a talented and pretty young lady – Tahiti Rey!

White Doves of Koolau
Host Kahu Kalehua Featheran opens Episode 8 with Dennis and Maureen Nakashima, owners of White Doves of Koolau.  The story of the origins and growth of White Doves of Koolau may be inspirational to those who found themselves suddenly without a job.  Maureen found herself in this situation and turned hubby’s hobby of raising these wonderful birds into a business that continues to grow today.

Viewers get to see what a typical dove release might look like and with the majestic Koolau mountain range in the background, this is a beautiful sight.  Kahu Kalehua and the Nakashima’s even get a visit from a baby shama thrush, who stopped by to share a song.  And, of course, Freddie joins “Mom and Dad” in the closing minutes of the interview to bid a fond aloha to the viewing audience – who’s Freddie?  Tune in and find out.

We are proud to sponsor our first professional for Hawaii’s Wedding Professionals “Paradise Cove” for the month of August) we are pleased to sponsor them with $6,700.00 worth of advertising on our television show on OC16 and will continue to support other companies or individuals by offering them sponsorships too!!

CONGRATULATIONS!!

Nalini and Manarii Gauthier, Purotu Designs
Host Kahu Kalehua Featheran welcomes Manarii and Nalini Gauthier of Purotu Designs as the first guests for this show.  This husband and wife team are the owners of a company who offer striking patterns and custom designed Tahitian wear, black pearl and shell jewelry and a Polynesian dance review for not only wedding couples but the general public as well.

The porte cochere of the now well known Wedding Cake home on Hawaii Loa Ridge is the background for this interview as Kahu Kalehua, along with Mana and Nalini model their Tahitian shirts and dress by Purotu Designs and display their elegant black pearl jewelry.  Viewers learn about how Purotu Designs began and the products and services they offer, with an emphasis on wedding related items.  Nalini works with each couple to find just the right outfit and matching jewelry and accessories for the bride and groom and their wedding party.

Ron Bongiovanni, Celebrity Tuxedos
In the second interview of this seventh show, Kahu Kalehua greets a dear friend, Ron Bongiovanni, owner of Celebrity Tuxedos at the Ala Moana Sears store.  Ron shows Kalehua the various “name” brands of tuxedos that the store carries such as Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein and the largest selection of colors to choose from to accent the tuxedos as viewers see models wearing some popular selections.

In speaking about marriage, Ron emphasizes that for a couple, although wearing formal clothing adds to the specialness of the event, it is the ceremony that they will remember as the years go by.  Kahu Kalehua couldn’t agree with Ron more for he also shares this sentiment with many wedding couples.

Celebrity Tuxedos has a Blessed to Bless program whereby, Ron explains “Through His grace we receive, and through His grace we joyfully give 10% of the tuxedo proceeds booked with us to the church at which your ceremony is performed or your home church.  Mahalo for celebrating with us!”  As can be seen, this company has a depth to their philosophy of doing business that have pleasantly surprised many of their recipients, Kahu Kalehua included.

Honolulu Horse & Carriage
Any bride would feel like a princess on her wedding day when she arrives to her ceremony site on an elegant carriage drawn by a handsome, high stepping Percheron or Belgian steed. What better way to make a memorable entrance on such a special day and what great photos to have in a wedding album!

In this sixth show, host Kahu Kalehua Featheran interviews Michelle Blacconiere of Honolulu Horse and Carriage and is treated to a ride on the Cinderella carriage, one of many styles of carriages that is offered. For this interview, Ikaika Uhane, a 2,400 pound magnificent white horse drew the carriage pass the fountain at Kapiolani Park, as Michelle shares with Kalehua and the viewing audience, how she got started, the occasions for which carriages are often sought and the different locations where they have had the honor of serving the wedding couples.

Cake Works
If you’re looking for a unique wedding cake, contact Kahu Kalehua’s second guest, Abigail Langlas of Cake Works. Located across from the Humane Society, Abigail and the staff at Cake Works are always happy to meet with the bride and groom to come up with the perfect design for each couple. In fact, on the day of the interview, Kahu Kalehua met a couple who had stopped by to place their order at Cake Works and chatted with them for a few minutes about their upcoming wedding.

During the interview, our cameras take you through a quick tour of the bakery and we see a cake being decorated…and via the magic of video tape, we see the final product at the end of the segment. We understand this cake was one of the featured wedding cakes at a recent bridal fair and as you see the intricate design of this cake, you can see why many couples go to Cake Works for their wedding cake needs…the cake was absolutely gorgeous.
