For this episode of Hawaii’s Wedding Professionals, host and producer Kahu Kalehua Featheran welcomes good friends and participant vendors on his wedding reality show, Down The Aisle On An Isle – Rona Mochizuki and Ann Goo from Watanabe Floral and Debra Bohol, Merri Ford and Steven Nagamine of Koolau Ballrooms and Conference Center.

As Kahu Kalehua mentions at the beginning of both interviews, his ego is being pampered by the presence of 4 lovely ladies, and let’s not leave out, one handsome gentleman.  First, we visit Watanabe Floral to meet Rona Mochizuki (Sales Manager) and Ann Goo (Design Center Manager).  Both were involved and instrumental in creating exquisite floral arrangements and floral pieces for Kahu Kalehua’s daughter, the bride on the Down The Aisle series.  As they explain the process that the bride goes through in meeting with them, selecting flowers and colors, seeing samples of the floral designs and finally having it all come together on the wedding day, viewers see excerpts of video clips from the Down The Aisle show. 

For the second interview, Kahu Kalehua and the camera crew travels to the windward side of the island, to Koolau Ballrooms and Conference Centers.  The two lovely ladies are the Event Services Managers, Debra Bohol and Merri Ford.  Debra and Merri invite people to come down to Koolau Ballrooms  and see the 3great venues for wedding ceremonies and 2 venues for receptions all have the awesome Koolau mountains and golf course as their backdrop. 

During the second half of the interview, Steven Nagamine, formerly the Event Services Manager for Cherie and Travis’ wedding, but now newly promoted to Sales Manager joins Kahu Kalehua and the ladies.  Steve is now involved in the marketing of Koolau Ballrooms and Conference Centers – watch for him at wedding expos and also the development of their social networking to include Facebook and Twitter.

The sounds of the conch shell (pu) and traditional Hawaiian chant (oli) opens this episode of Hawaii’s Wedding Professionals, filmed on the garden isle of Kauai at Kalapaki Bay.

Host Kahu Kalehua Featheran welcomes Kahu J Kauilani Kahalekai as his first guest on this show. Kahu Kahalekai shares with the viewers, her understanding of the significance of the pu and oli at the start of wedding ceremonies. Her ceremonies are 20 to 30 minutes long, and depending on the preferences of the couple, she can also include a coconut ceremony and/or a hookupu ceremony.

Every Thursday, Kahu Kahalekai can be found at Outrigger’s Kihuna Plantation doing vow renewals. She is also a musician and has a CD coming out in April 2011.

In Kahu Kalehua’s next guest, lucky local and destination couples get a wedding coordinator and photographer all in one in Timory McDonald of Aloha Ever After. With Lydgate Beach in the background, Kahu Kalehua and Timory shares her services with viewers. Tune in to hear about the various types of styles that Timory incorporates into her wedding photography, as well as a few unique business concepts:

1. She suggests doing a “stomach check” to know whether you have selected the right wedding photographer for you…
2. Ask her about her “meet or beat” price policy

As a wedding coordinator, Timory’s gifts are in naturally being extremely well organized and good at planning details. Since she gets to know the couple during the planning stages as a wedding coordinator, this relationship also carries over when she does the photography because the bride and groom are already comfortable with her.

With “Down The Aisle On An Isle” reality series coming to a close, host Kahu Kalehua Featheran is once more introducing the viewing public to some great wedding professionals. We start up again with Brian and Kevin Emery of Sunrise Shells Hawaii and Pura Stephen of Turtle Bay Resort.

Growing up on the North Shore, twins Brian and Kevin Emery spent much of their growing up years on the beach, swimming, diving, fishing and gathering shells. Many years later, they have turned this childhood past time into a successful and thriving business called Sunrise Shells Hawaii. Tune in to find out exactly what is a Sunrise Shell, where do they come from and how they become beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry through the loving hands and creative imagination of these two enterprising brothers.

The mission of Sunrise Shells Hawaii is to use all local materials to create traditional Hawaiian shell leis, reflecting the deep love that Brian and Kevin have for the islands and the sea.

Kahu Kalehua says aloha to the Emery’s and travel from Punaluu to Kahuku, where he talks stories with Pura Stephen, Catering Sales Manager of the Turtle Bay Resort on the North Shore of Oahu. Scenic Stable Beach and Ke Iki Lagoon are the backdrops for the two interview segments, where couples can host up to 500 and 200 wedding guests respectively.

Turtle Bay has a lot to offer on their 880 acre property. There are sand, lawn and pavilion sites for the wedding ceremony; back up in-door rooms for those rare days when the rain refuses to let the sun shine through; horse back riding for adults and children; and even locations where celebrities such as M C Hammer did their vow renewals…and locations for the movie crews of Pirates of the Caribbean, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Soul Surfer and most recently, Wedding Wars. From weddings, to corporate retreats, to family gathering, there is a menu that can be customized for any type of event and palate. And to top it all off, a team of 3 to 4 wedding coordinators will help the bridal couple through to the wedding day and reception.

Six months of filming and even more months of planning have culminated in this one special day -Travis and Cherie’s wedding day!  In this THOROUGHLY ENJOYABLE SHOW, watch as an ensemble of 16 experienced, quality and service oriented wedding professionals weave their magic to create a lifelong memory for this wedding couple.  You will see heartwarming scenes between the couple and their family members, feel a tear well up as you witness Travis and Cherie’s wedding ceremony, and  “ooh and aah” at the spectacular transformation of an already beautiful Glass Ballroom at Koolau Ballrooms into a venue fit for royalty.  In between, there will be lots of joyful laughter at the witty comments by Travis, Cherie and their bridal party, family and guests and the naturally entertaining emceeing of the reception by Cherie’s cousin, Lina Girl of KCCN FM100.

This show captures the excitement of the arrival of Cherie and her ladies and Travis and his men, the fun photo taking and video filming, the joy of the wedding ceremony and the partying at the reception.  Oh, and the film crew even travels from Koolau Ballrooms to The Lotus at Diamond Head at the end of the evening, where we get one last view of the Penthouse until Travis and Cherie calls it a night and politely but definitely close the doors of their honeymoon suite.

For shows #13 and #14, Host Kahu Kalehua Featheran joins the couple, first at Koolau Ballrooms and Conference Center and next at Watanabe Floral, to review the six month journey from planning to wedding day with the couple, Travis and Cherie Kanae-Rodrigues.  Viewers get the opportunity to see the vendors one more time, with comments and stories provided by the wedding couple.
